Zaryadye Park (Russian: Парк «Зарядье») is an urban park located near Red Square in Moscow, Russia on a former Rossiya Hotel site. Zaryadye Park is the first public park built in Moscow for over 50 years, the last being the Soviet Friendship Park, built for the 1957 Festival of Youth and Students. The park was inaugurated on 9 September 2017, with the participation of President Vladimir Putin and Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin.
"Zaryadye" - the first new large park in the capital for the last almost 70 years. Its scale and complexity of engineering solutions are amazing. The area of the park's facilities is almost 78 thousand square meters. meters, of which 25.2 thousand "squares" will be occupied by a multipurpose concert hall. The "Zaryadie" also built an underground parking for 430 cars.
The main feature of the park was that all its objects are "hidden" under the landscape. In this green space "Zaryadye" will not be monotonous - the entire territory of the park was divided into four climatic zones: forest, steppe, tundra, and the floodplains.
Another advantage of the new park is a picturesque view of the Kremlin, which visitors can admire "Zaryadye" from the "floating bridge" over the Moskva River. After a walk in the park you can have fun on the attractions - ride the "Time Machine" or go to "Flight over Russia".
The "floating bridge" in the park "Zaryadye" is a thin air structure in the form of the letter "V" with a large outward extension of the console above the water. It towers over the embankment and seems to hover over the Moscow River - so city planners have chosen such a sonorous name for it.
This is a unique bridge, unique in Russia: it has a 70-meter console without a single support. The bearing structure of the bridge was made of concrete, and the decorative elements were made of metal. At the same time the deck of the "floating bridge" is wooden - for comfortable walks of Muscovites.
Designs tested for strength, the bridge withstood a load of 240 tons. This means that 3-4 thousand people can simultaneously be on the observation deck.
For the security of the townspeople, high fences are installed, so that no one can climb over them or jump over.
On an area of 8,5 thousand square meters. in the park "Zaryadye" housed a unique media center with various interactive opportunities and cognitive attractions. Visitors will get acquainted with the most important natural and architectural sights of the country. They are waiting for the exciting "Flight over Russia", the cultural and historical exposition "Moscow Now" and an interactive museum.
In one of the pavilions of the media center, viewers will be shown unique films about cultural monuments, protected areas and historical places of Russia.
In the cinema, three rows of chairs will be located on a movable platform in front of a concave screen, the shape of which will create a panoramic image. Multichannel surround sound, special effects in the form of water sprayers, wind generators, smoke and fragrances make the show vivid and memorable.
The only digital media hall in Russia with a cylindrical screen and an interactive image will take viewers during the formation of Moscow.
Visitors to the media center will witness the Battle of Borodino, the fire of Moscow in 1812, the geographical discoveries and the heyday of the sciences, and the "participants" of the famous Council in Fili.
Stylized pavilion with an interactive exhibition will tell visitors about the history of development of the Far North, a unique region with a diverse flora and fauna, rich in sights and natural resources.
Plunge into the atmosphere of the Arctic will help special equipment: video projection system and technology of background sound amplification.
For reliability in one part of the pavilion year-round will be maintained a negative temperature: those who want to visit the Arctic attraction should take with them a cap and mittens. To create the ice thickness, specialists needed to freeze about 70 tons of water.
During the day, the temperature in the ice cave will not fall below minus two degrees, and in the evening - below minus five. Such a temperature regime was recognized by experts as optimal for an ice-free construction. The cover of the cave itself will be a natural white color. Ice will also be highlighted.
In the Ice Cave, an educational site, the "Conservation Embassy", was also started. Employees of national reserves and other environmental institutions will be able to conduct educational programs here, as well as exchange experiences in the field of biology and ecology.
In the park "Zaryadye" there will be a Concert Hall with an amphitheater. The building under a glass dome with an organ and a stage-transformer will become a multifunctional concert venue of the capital. This is a separate object that does not belong directly to the park. It will be introduced already after the opening of "Zaryadye" - in the spring of 2018.
The Philharmonic project is one of the most difficult in the park. On the one hand, the building will be "dug up" into the hill and it will be possible to walk along the roof. Only the glass facade will remain open.
The new Philharmonic will replace the concert site of the demolished Rossiya Hotel, on the site of which the park "Zaryadye". The area of the new cultural object will be 25.2 thousand square meters. meters. For visitors to the Philharmonic there will be a large hall for 1560 seats and a small hall for 400 people.
The hall will be multifunctional. It will sound not only symphonic music, but also pop and jazz concerts.
Mechanization of the hall involves the transformation of the orchestra pit and the stage. Thus, the building of the Philharmonic in Zaryadye will become a venue for mass events of world level.
The amphitheater adjoins to the philharmonic society. It will be covered with a dome, the so-called glass bark, to protect park visitors from the rain. This is the world's largest translucent structure that will keep the warm climate under it even in winter. The only wall of this unusual structure will remain on the east side, where the "glass cortex" adjoins the Philharmonic.
The amphitheater will be a stepped landscape design descending from the hill to the stage. The spots will be made of wood. The paths between the rows are planned to be filled with small pebbles, it will become part of the drainage system. Amphitheater organically fit into the natural landscape of the park.
A large open amphitheater in Zaryadye can accommodate 2500 people. The small amphitheater, in which the media screen will be installed, is designed for 400 visitors.
Next to the stage will install a media screen. There will be film screenings, concerts, lectures and other events. The design of the summer amphitheater was developed by the winner of the 2012 competition for the project of the Zaryadie Park.
To see all the beauty and breadth of Russia, to visit the Far North, to admire the Ural mountains and the Caucasus ridges, visitors to the 4D-attraction "Flight over Russia" will be able to find themselves in the Far East and the Baltic Sea.
On a 12-meter parabolic screen, viewers sitting on special dynamic platforms will be shown about 30 unique natural locations in Russia, taken from a height. Thanks to the "effect of presence" Muscovites will feel the water splashes and the wind alive, feel the sounds and smells of nature. In one session the attraction will be able to accommodate 40 people, and its capacity will be 400 spectators per hour.
