The Kiev Palace of Sports (Ukrainian: Палац Спорту) is situated in the centre of Kiev, Ukraine on the right bank of the Dnieper river.
It was built in 1960 under the leadership of Mykhailo Hrechyna and Aleksei Zavarov as a major indoor sports arena. It was also a venue for large concerts with bands such as Deep Purple, A-Ha and Big Country. The venue also hosts major exhibitions and trade fairs. In 2005 it hosted the Eurovision Song Contest, which required the facilities to be brought up to the standard required by the European Broadcasting Union.
