Eureka! The National Children's Museum is an interactive educational museum for children in Halifax, West Yorkshire, England. It is run as an educational charity and not-for-profit organisation and is the UK's first and foremost Children's Museum.
The museum was partly inspired by Prince Charles, was opened by him on 9 July 1992, and he is its Patron. It is located on former British Rail land next to Halifax railway station.
Eureka! is based on the North American model of children’s museums with a focus on play based learning and informal learning experiences. Eureka! is aimed at families with children age 0-11 and encourages lots of parental involvement. It was designed by Eric McMillan, a Canadian designer of several children attractions in North America.
