C3 Church Sydney

C3 Church Sydney (formerly Christian City Church Oxford Falls) is the largest congregation in the Christian City Churches movement. The Church is headquartered at its Oxford Falls campus and also has a campuses in Silverwater and Potts Point. It has a weekly attendance in excess of 4000, and a membership in excess of 6000 people, making it one of the largest churches in Australia.

About

C3 Church is involved in a large number of local and national ministry projects including C3 College, with 2 educational streams giving targeted ministry training. These streams are Creative Ministries and Leadership Ministry.

C3 Church is involved in planting a number of new churches every year, it has its own TV production studio(C3TV), art gallery, cafe, children's indoor play facility which is open to the general public and book store.

C3 Church runs a number of ministries, including 'Real Men', 'EveryWoman'. The church also runs a number of Youth and Young adult ministries including the successful 'Change' and 'SG' groups (SG Senior High, SG Junior High).

C3 Church also runs C3 College; C3 Church Oxford Falls founded and continues to have a large involvement in Oxford Falls Grammar School.

Each week C3 Church creates and airs the C3TV (Christian City TV) on Network Ten in Australia, the program also shows on the Australian Christian Channel and internationally.

C3 Church's Oxford Falls congregation and leadership is home to a large number of Artists and Authors, including Phil and Chris Pringle, Simon McIntyre (Follow the Leader), Mary Simpson (31 Girl, Dream Girl & Girlfriendship). The onsite galleries display the work of artists from within the church and C3 College, Creative Leadership Stream.

History

The church was founded in 1980 by Phil and Chris Pringle who came to Sydney from New Zealand for that purpose. It was originally known as 'Christian Centre, Northside' and began with 12 people on the Northern beaches of Sydney. Since then the church has grown, its current complex was opened by John Howard the Prime Minister of Australia. In 2009 the Christian City Church, Oxford Falls become C3 Church Sydney and adopted Christian City Church, Centrewest as its Silverwater campus and God in the City as its City campus.

The church is the founding and home church of the Christian City Churches (C3i) movement.

Programs Run By C3 Church Sydney

C3 College (Ministry Training College)

C3 College offers specific ministry training in 3 areas, with 2 different streams. These streams offer training focused on building the church, and developing leaders and ministers, moving in the power of the Holy Spirit.

The Creative Ministry Stream trains creative ministers and performers in the areas of Vocals & Worship Leading, Contemporary Music and Worship Leading, Music, Visual Arts, Screen Production, Songwriting and Contemporary Dance.

The Leadership Ministry Stream trains church leaders and ministers, as well as teach people how to do life well and incorporates what was the School of Pastoral Care Management which trains counsellors and community case workers, with community recognised qualifications.

All full time courses are fully accredited qualifications.

REALMEN

REALMEN is a program run by C3 Church, and adopted by many Christian City Churches worldwide. The ministry is co-ordinated by Pst Greg French.

"The REALMEN Ministry of C3 Church is based on identifying with where men are at in the various roles they find themselves in along their life journey - as husbands, sons and fathers, as workers and career builders and as Christians. Men everywhere want to know how to do life and do it well. They want to know how best to manage the business of life and to juggle the ever-increasing responsibilities and demands being placed on them."

REALMEN runs an annual conference at C3 Church, and similar conferences Australia and worldwide. Other notable events include bi-annual Men's Breakfasts onsite at C3 Church.

The day to day REALMEN program is run in Men's Connect (Small) groups throughout the church.

Change

Change is a rapidly growing Young adults community held on a Wednesday night at C3 Church, it is led by Pastors Josh & Georgie Kelsey and regularly attracts up to 300+ people. The group was formed over 5 years ago and has grown to it current size rapidly in that time. The 'Change' community now has over 15 young adult groups throughout the C3 Church movement around the world from Canada, USA, Europe, New Zealand and Australia and operates a Podcast service on a weekly basis. Change uses the 'Connect Groups' system to grow and disciple its members.

Awakening

Awakening is more than a conference it is a movement of young adults hungry for Jesus and the His Gospel. Now in its 4th year of running it sees over 1000 young adults gather to glorify God and see young adults wake up to His joy. Hosted by the Young Adults community of C3 Church but last year gathered over 80 different churches. They just finished a tour of London, New York and Sydney in January and February 2009. The 2010 conference is 5th-6th of February at Sydney, Big Top, Luna Park.

Youth

C3 Church runs a number of Youth Programs that share the name and vision, Stadium Generation. Stadium Generation includes three separate meetings over the week, Junior High, Senior High and Sunday Morning. Although separate programs, they share the same vision, to see the stadiums filled with young people. The youth is attended by upwards of 7 people weekly and is responsible for a large number of events each year including the well known 'Phenomena' conference.

Phenomena 07, 'LOUD', took place over 16-19th of April. The conference featured C3 Church Pastor Phil Pringle and Youth Pastor James Murray, as well as international speakers Judah Smith, Pat Mesiti and Annaliese Halvorsen. It also featured competitions for people to enter with Fashion & Make-Up, Visual Arts, Music, Skating or Short Films which reflect the theme 'Loud'. Competition entries were displayed at the conference and prizes of $500 were awarded.

In 2009 a new conference, known as MYGEN was formed, including speakers Dan Lian, James Murray and many other speakers

MYGEN 2010 featured International speakers Elijah and Anne Maree Waters, as well as Josh Kelsey, Dan Lian, James Murray and Kaley Korocz

Music

C3 Church has a long tradition of church music, and was active in pioneering the Australian Christian music scene. The Oxford Falls label C3 Music (formerly Seam of Gold) has produced upwards of twenty different albums.
