Bow Falls

Bow Falls is a major waterfall on the Bow River just before the junction of it and the Spray River.

Bow Falls is a major waterfall on the Bow River just before the junction of it and the Spray River. The falls are located near the Banff Springs Hotel and golf course on the left-hand side of River Road.

Large number of tourists visit the falls annually because of its proximity to Banff. It is not the size of the falls that attracts them as it is only a few metres high.

The 1953 Marilyn Monroe film River of No Return featured the falls.

April 21 and it's super-rare, shorts weather at Bow Falls! Come see it this week, you can still walk on snow but the rapids are flowing a gorgeous cornflower blue.
