Ai-Petri

Ai-Petri (українська. Ай-Петрі, русский. Ай-Петри, qırımtatarca. Ay Petri); (translated from Greek. Saint Peter) is a peak in the Crimean Mountains. For administrative purposes it is in the Yalta municipality of Crimea.

The name has Greek origin, and is translated as St. Peter (Ελληνικά. Άγιος Πέτρος).

Ai-Petri is one of the windiest places in Ukraine. The wind blows for 125 days a year, reaching a speed of Шаблон:Convert.

The peak is located above the city of Alupka and the town of Koreiz.

There is a Cable Car that takes passengers from a station near Alupka to the main area in Ai-Petri, which costs about 60 грн for adults and 30 грн for children, one way.

Amazing view, better to get on top by car and get down by cable way (less time waiting in the line). You will land near Vorontsovsky palace and park. Then walk down the park to see Alupka's beaches.

PM hours are your best photo ops! Stay late and then hike down (keep to the left, east, of the gondola). Sounds risky? Ansel Adams was a wuss either.

You can climb up to Ai-Petri for free, just take right and climb up to the second peak, then return by tourist road.

Get some food from persian guys. They know how to cook and they serve good tea. And prices are just right.
