The Alatsee mountain lake by ANBerlin [Ondré]

ENG: The Alatsee lake lies about six kilometres west of Füssen in the Bavarian Allgäu. It lies in a gorge-like depression and ridge, directly on the border with Austria. The lake can be reached by car, the steep and winding dead-end road is already a highlight in itself. This lake is one of the coldest lakes in the border area and the water is crystal clear and partly turquoise in colour. The walk around the lake takes about 30 minutes. Several benches around the lake invite you to linger. Around the small about 32 meters deep Alatsee many regional myths and legends are entwined. Mythical creatures are said to dwell there, as well as ghosts. Careless hikers would be drawn into the lake and lured into crevasses. It is therefore considered a disreputable place by the local population. However, these deaths are most likely due to the release of hydrogen sulphide. But it's a great destination and a jewel in any shape or form.
