Council Study was where the king presided over the various Councils with his ministers as well as granting audiences and receiving oaths of loyalty. On the mantelpiece, a clock to the glory of Louis XIV, made for Louis XV in 1754. Two vases know as Mars and Minerva, made for this room in 1787.
