Deutsches Museum, Munich by herbraab

The &quot;Deutsches Museum&quot; (German Museum) in Munich was opened in 1925. It is still one of the largest museums for science and technology worldwide. The building has two obervatory domes on the east- and west-side, respectively, which are equipped with a <a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/herbraab/43795199452/">300mm Zeiss Refractor</a> and a <a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/herbraab/42035113730">400mm Reflector</a> by Goerz. The central rotunda housed the world's first planetarium (now replaced by newer equipment). The small white dome is a recent addition and houses a heloistat (previously used at the <a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/herbraab/20996597840/">Wendelstein Observatory</a> that projects a live image of the sun, as well as the spectrum of the sun, int the building. The tower at right shows some large meteorological instuments. On the top of this side, a barometer displays the atmospheric pressure (readng 71 cm Hg). The thermometer (silver scale below the barometer) has reached the end of the scale at +35°C on this hot summer day.
