c. 3,000 BC some evidence of cult of Gaia, the earth-mother, and 4th century BC construction of present cultic buildings in honour of Zeus. Gaia continued to be worshipped under the guise of Dione, the wife of Zeus - and the two deities had 2 sets of priests.
