Albania is an Eastern European country located in the western part of the Balkan peninsula. It is bordered by Montenegro, Kosovo, North Macedonia, and Greece, and it has a coastline on the Adriatic and Ionian Seas. Albania has a population of approximately 2.8 million people and covers an area of 28,748 square kilometers (11,100 square miles).

The capital and largest city of Albania is Tirana, which is home to more than 800,000 people. The second largest city is Durrës, with a population of over 200,000. Other notable cities include Elbasan, Shkodër, Fier, and Vlorë.

Albania has a Mediterranean climate that ranges from temperate to subtropical. Summer temperatures average around 25°C (77°F) and winter temperatures average around 5°C (41°F). The best time to visit Albania is from April to June or September to October when the weather is milder and there are fewer tourists.

Albanian cuisine is a fusion of Mediterranean flavours with influences from Italy, Turkey, and Greece. Popular dishes include Tavë Kosi (baked lamb with yogurt sauce), Byrek (meat or vegetable-filled pastry), Fërgesë (vegetable pie), as well as fresh seafood dishes.

Albania uses the Lek (ALL) as its currency which makes it an affordable destination for travelers.

The official language of Albania is Albanian which belongs to the Indo-European family of languages. In addition to Albanian, English and Italian are also widely spoken throughout the country.
