Tiberias (
Tverya) is the town in
Israel, located some 60 km to the north-west from
Irbid, 130 km north-west of Jordan border. The capital city
Jerusalem is in 160 km to the south-west. The population of Tiberias is about 39,800 people (census of 2013). People mostly visit it to see its tombs.
The nearest airport Mahanaim I Ben Yaakov (IATA: RPN) is about 30 km away.

According to Jewish tradition, the Tomb of Maimonides (Hebrew: קבר הרמב" ם translit. Kever ha-Rambam) is located in central Tiberias, on the western shore of the Sea of Galilee, Israel. Maimonides died in Fustat, Egypt on 12 December 1204, where it is believed that he was briefly buried before being reinterred in Tiberias.
