Pleven (Плевен) is the seventh largest city in Bulgaria, located some 160 km to the south-east from Craiova, 120 km south-west of Romania border. The capital city Sofia is in 180 km to the south-west. The population of the the city was estimated at 118,700 people according to the 2012 census Pleven is a popular tourist destination thanks to its art museums and galleries and burial monuments and structures.
