Pechenga (Печенга) is the small town in Russia, located some 30 km to the north-east from Zapolyarnyy. The capital city Moscow is in 2,040 km to the south-east. The population of the the small town was estimated at 2,800 people according to the 2015 census People mostly visit Pechenga to see its monasteries.

Hoybuktmoen (IATA: KKN) is the nearest airport to Pechenga, situated just 80 km to the west.

1. Pechenga Monastery
The Pechenga Monastery (Russian: Печенгский монастырь and Finnish: Petsamon luostari) was for many centuries the northernmost monastery in the world. It was founded in 1533 at the influx of the Pechenga River into the Barents Sea, 135 km west of modern Murmansk, by St. Tryphon, a monk from Novgorod.
