Luxor (Al Uqşur) is the seventh largest city in Egypt, located some 70 km to the south from Qina. The capital city Cairo is in 660 km to the north-west. According to the latest census, the population of Luxor is about 422,500 people. Many people visit Luxor to experience its archaeological sites and burial monuments and structures.

1. Luxor Temple

4. Valley of the Queens
The Valley of the Queens is a place in Egypt where wives of Pharaohs were buried in ancient times. In ancient times, it was known as Ta-Set-Neferu, meaning –‘the place of the Children of the Pharaoh’, because along with the Queens of the 18th, 19th and 20th dynasties (1550–1070 BCE) many princes and princesses were also buried with various members of the nobility. 5. Medinet Habu (temple)
Medinet Habu is the name commonly given to the Mortuary Temple of Ramesses III, an important New Kingdom period structure in the location of the same name on the West Bank of Luxor in Egypt. Aside from its intrinsic size and architectural and artistic importance, the temple is probably best known as the source of inscribed reliefs depicting the advent and defeat of the Sea Peoples during the reign of Ramesses III.

7. Ramesseum
The Ramesseum is the memorial temple (or mortuary temple) of Pharaoh Ramesses II (" Ramesses the Great" also spelled " Ramses" and " Rameses" ). It is located in the Theban necropolis in Upper Egypt, across the River Nile from the modern city of Luxor. The name – or at least its French form, Rhamesséion – was coined by Jean-François Champollion, who visited the ruins of the site in 1829 and first identified the hieroglyphs making up Ramesses' names and titles on the walls.
