Lagos is the largest city in Nigeria situated some 10 km south of Makoko and 700 km from the capital, 120 km east of Nigeria - Benin border. The population is about 9,000,100 people in accordance with the 2014 census. Thousands of tourists visit Lagos every year to see its islands and art museums and galleries.

Murtala Muhammed (IATA: LOS) is the nearest airport to Lagos, situated just 30 km to the north-west.

5. Freedom Park (Lagos)
Freedom Park is a memorial and leisure park area in the middle of downtown Lagos in Lagos Island, Nigeria which was formerly Her Majesty's Broad Street Prison. It was designed by the Architect Theo Lawson as a speculative project under the CIA-Lagos (formerly Creative Intelligence Agency and now Cultural Intellectual Association) in 1999.

6. National Theatre, Nigeria
The National Theatre, Nigeria is the primary centre for the performing arts in Nigeria. The monument is located in Iganmu, Surulere, Lagos. Its construction was completed in 1976 in preparation for the Festival of Arts and Culture (FESTAC) in 1977.

7. Federal Palace Hotel
The Federal Palace Hotel is a 5 star hotel and casino with 150-rooms that overlooks the Atlantic Ocean, located in the commercial hub of Victoria Island in Lagos. Established in 1960 as the country's premier international hotel, it was originally owned by the Victoria Beach Hotel, as part of the A. G. Leventis trading group. Considered " a landmark of the Lagos metropolis" the hotel is notable for having been the setting for the signing of Nigeria's Declaration of Independence.

8. Tarkwa Bay Beach
Tarkwa Bay is an artificial sheltered beach located near the Lagos harbour in Nigeria.
