Cerro Azul (" blue hill" in Spanish) is an active stratovolcano located in central Chile's Maule Region, immediately south of Descabezado Grande volcano. Capped by a 500-metre (1, 600 ft) wide summit crater that is open to the north, the lower slopes host numerous scoria cones and flank vents.
