Hulkis is the small town in
Finland, located some 10 km to the north-east from
Kaarina. The capital city
Helsinki is in 190 km to the east. According to the latest census, the population of Hulkis is about 170 people. People mostly visit it to see its astronomical observatories.
Turku (IATA: TKU) is the nearest airport to it, situated just 20 km to the north-west.
Things to do in Hulkis
Tuorla Observatory is the Department of Astronomy at the University of Turku, southwest Finland. Currently it is the largest astronomical research institute in Finland. Together with the Space Research Laboratory at the Physics Department of the University of Turku, it forms Väisälä Institute of Space Physics and Astronomy (VISPA).
