Gurre is the small place in
Denmark, located some 10 km to the north-west from
Espergjærde, 20 km west of Sweden border. The capital city
Copenhagen is in 60 km to the south. The population of Gurre is about 110 people (census of 2008). People mostly visit Gurre to see its ruins.
Landskrona (IATA: JLD) is the nearest airport to it, situated just 40 km to the south-east.

Gurre Castle (dansk. Gurre Slot) was a royal castle in North Zealand in Denmark which lies on the outskirts of Helsingør towards the town of Tikøb on the lake at Gurre (Gurre Sø). The castle, now a ruin, was built in the 12th century and added 4 towers and a perimeter wall in the 1350s; it was excavated in the 19th century (from 1835) and is now restored.
