Best things to see in it
1. Grytviken
Grytviken (Swedish for " The Pot Cove" ) is the principal settlement in the British territory of South Georgia in the South Atlantic. It was so named by a 1902 Swedish surveyor who found old English try pots used to render seal oil at the site. It is the best harbour on the island, consisting of a bay (King Edward Cove) within a bay (Cumberland East Bay). The site is quite sheltered, provides a substantial area of flat land suitable for building on, and has a good supply of fresh water.
2. Bellingshausen Island
Bellingshausen Island is one of the most southerly of the South Sandwich Islands, close to Thule Island and Cook Island, and forming part of the Southern Thule group. It is named after its discoverer, Baltic German-Russian Antarctic explorer Fabian von Bellingshausen (1778–1852).
3. Leskov Island
Leskov Island is a small uninhabited island in the Traversay Islands group of the South Sandwich Islands. It is less than 1. 5 kilometres (1 mi) long, and lies 48 km (30 mi) west of Visokoi Island. It was discovered in 1819 by a Russian expedition under Bellingshausen, who named it for the third lieutenant on the expedition ship Vostok.
