Donetsk (Донецьк) is the third largest city in Ukraine, located some 20 km to the south-west from Dmitriyevsk, 130 km north-west of Russia border. The capital city Kiev is in 780 km to the north-west. According to the latest census, the population of Donetsk is about 1,024,800 people, making it the third largest city in Ukraine.
