Chi-an is the small settlement in China, located some 20 km to the south-west from Mampochin, 20 km south-west of North Korea border. The capital city Beijing is in 1,100 km to the west. The population of Chi-an is 120 people (as of 2011). People mostly visit it to see its monuments and memorials.

The nearest airport Dandong (IATA: DDG) is about 270 km away.

The stele of Gwanggaeto the Great of Goguryeo was erected in 414 by Jangsu of Goguryeo as a memorial to his deceased father. It is one of the major primary sources extant for the history of Goguryeo, one of the Three Kingdoms of Korea, and supplies invaluable historical detail on his reign as well as insights into Goguryeo mythology.
