Benghazi (بنغازي) is the second largest city in Libya, located some 70 km to the west from MadÄ«rat al Abyār. The capital city Tripolis is in 850 km to the west. The population of the the large city was estimated at 650,700 people according to the 2009 census People mostly visit Benghazi to see its mosques and roman catholic cathedrals.
