Alasia is the community in Cyprus, located some 10 km to the north-west from Famagusta. The capital city Nicosia is in 70 km to the west. According to the latest census, the population of Alasia is about 90 people. People mostly visit it to see its archaeological sites.

According to tradition the founder of Salamis was Teucer, son of Telamon, who could not return home after the Trojan war because he had failed to avenge his brother Ajax.
