Acre (

Israel situated some 10 km west of
Al Judeida and 170 km from
the capital, 110 km north-west of Israel -
Jordan border. It has a population of 45,700 people. Many people visit Acre each year to take a look at its famous historic places and mosques.

The el-Jazzar Mosque (Arabic: مسجد الجزار, Masjid al-Jazzar; Hebrew: מסגד אל-ג'זאר, Misgad al-G'zar), also known as the White Mosque, is located on el-Jazzar Street inside the walls of the old city of Acre, overlooking the eastern Mediterranean Sea, and is named after the Ottoman Bosnian governor Ahmad Pasha el-Jazzar (" the Butcher" ).
Khan al-Umdan (Arabic: خان العمدان: " Caravanserai of the Pillars" or " Inn of the Columns" also known as Khán-i-'Avámid) is the largest and best preserved khan in Israel. Located in the Old City of Acre, it is one of the prominent projects constructed during the rule of Ahmed Jezzar Pasha in Ottoman era Palestine.
The Tower of Flies was a formidable guard tower/fort at the medieval city-port of Acre, Israel, which overlooked the harbour from a small island and protected the city’s rich maritime trade. It also served as a lighthouse.
